ThyNetwork is a closed network built so independent people — creators, journalists, tradespeople, families — have somewhere to work and be seen that isn't run for someone else's benefit.
Why it's closed
Open platforms are open to everyone, which sounds generous until you're the one being harassed on one. Everything here runs on a verified membership. You apply, you're checked, and you're accountable for what you do under your name. That single decision is what makes the rest of it possible.
A closed network is smaller than an open one. We think that's the trade worth making. A member here is a person, not a number in a growth chart.
What we are trying to do
Follow the law of the land and treat people the way we would want to be treated. That is not decoration on this page — it is the standard we hold ourselves to when a decision is difficult and no one is watching.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Every rule on this network is that sentence, worked out in detail.
Your information is not for sale
We do not sell member information. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone, at any price. This is not a policy we intend to revisit when the offer gets large enough. If the network cannot pay for itself through memberships and honest advertising, we would rather have a smaller network.
Advertising here is bought as a placement on a page. Advertisers do not get your profile, your interests, or your history to target you with. They get a slot, the same way an advertiser buys a page in a newspaper.
What we will not tolerate
Abuse of a member, physical or mental, ends a membership. Harassment, threats, coercion, stalking, and the deliberate wearing-down of another person are all abuse, and being clever about it does not make it something else. See the House Standards for the whole of it.
Your ThyID
Your number is yours. It's how members find you, how you sign in across the network, and the thread that ties everything you build here together. Guard it the way you would any other credential.
