Getting started
What is ThyID?
One membership and one number for every Thy site. You sign in here once; when you open a site on the network, the site asks ThyID who you are and lets you in. Your password, PIN and email stay on ThyID — a site never sees them.
What is my ThyID number?
Four letters and five digits, like KOLA10042. It is issued when your application is paid, it appears in your welcome email and on your dashboard, and it works on every site in the network. Write it down. Your username signs you in as well.
What do I need to sign in?
Your ThyID or username, your password, and your six-digit PIN. If you have turned on an authenticator, its six digits too. Sign-in counts failed attempts only, so a correct sign-in never locks you out.
How do I get into a site?
Go to the site and sign in with your ThyID from there. That is the handshake, and the site then appears under Website Access on your dashboard. From then on, clicking it on your dashboard opens the site with you already signed in.
I forgot my PIN
Use the forgot-PIN link on ThySign. A reset link goes to the email on your account, expires in thirty minutes, and works once.
Levels and access
What do the levels cost?
Gold $14.99 — 18 web accesses. Platinum $23.99 — 36 web accesses and 10 districts. Diamond $32.99 — unlimited.
Household plans, all unlimited: Single Parent $19.99, Family $25.99, Sibling Family $37.99.
What is a web access?
One site. Each handshake with a site spends one of the web accesses your level carries. Only the sites you chose are listed on your dashboard — there is no catalogue of the network there, because a list of two thousand sites would bury the handful you actually use.
What is a district?
A group of sites — the fifty states, the countries, the arts. You join a district from any site inside it, and every site in that district comes with it. Your dashboard lists every district; the ones you joined are lit, and each opens to show the sites it holds.
Can I change my level?
Yes, from your dashboard. An upgrade takes effect immediately. Your membership runs to the end of the term you paid for.
Family plans
How does a family plan work?
Like a phone family plan. The person who pays buys a household level and receives a family code on the success screen. Each member of the household fills out their own application and enters that code — their price becomes zero and their application clears automatically.
Seats: Single Parent 3, Family 6, Sibling Family 4. Extra children are $0.25 each, four at most. A family photo is required when a family code is used — it is what makes a household plan a household.
Does everyone in the household get their own ThyID?
Yes. A seat is access, not an account someone else operates. Every person on a household plan holds their own ThyID and their own profile.
Your profile and uploads
What is the difference between my profile and my dashboard?
Two pages, not one page with two halves. The public profile is what anyone can see: banner, information card, gallery. The dashboard is yours alone: access, data, money, districts. Media lives on the public page; the dashboard holds none.
What does the banner take?
One photo, or one clip up to 30 seconds. Video plays muted and loops. The profile square sits half on the banner's bottom edge, so keep the subject centred.
Where do uploads go?
Everything you upload on the network starts in ThyDesk, from your dashboard. You choose the destination first — gallery, banner, profile picture, ThyCV, family photo, documents — and the destination sets the rules. Gallery and banner clips are capped at 30 seconds; a longer file lets you choose which 30 seconds to keep.
Can I keep search from showing me?
Turn off Searchable on the front in your dashboard. People who already follow you keep their link.
Money and advertising
Who handles my card?
Stripe. Your card number never touches a ThyNetwork server and never appears on a ThyID page — the card fields at checkout are Stripe's own. A refund shows on your dashboard the moment it is made.
How do ads on ThyID work?
A page carries one wide slot, five placements per carousel, each sold on its own. Advertisers buy a slot on a page — never a person. Your information is not sold, not shared for advertising, and not used to decide what you see.
Was I charged when a ThyCV door was closed to me?
No. The entry fee is only taken when the door opens. A refused requester is never charged, and no reason is ever given.
Applications and decisions
Why does my application say it needs approval?
A person is reviewing it. That happens for several reasons and we do not say which — most clear quickly. You receive an email either way.
Can I check before I apply?
Yes. The appeals page has a name check that tells you whether an account can be opened for a name, without filling anything out. A complete application and a matching ID are still required.
My application was declined
File an appeal with your reference number. A person reads every one and answers by email.
Safety and privacy
Is my information sold?
What happens to my verification documents?
They are collected for one purpose, encrypted, access-logged, and deleted once verification is done.
What ends a membership?
Abuse of a member — harassment, threats, coercion, stalking, sustained cruelty. The House Standards name them. Report any member who abuses, threatens or harasses you; the report goes to a person. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
