Your information is not for sale. Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone, at any price. Everything below is the detail behind that sentence.
What we collect
From your application
Legal name, display name, email, phone, date of birth, country, profession, education, the links you gave us, and the documents you uploaded to verify yourself.
From using the network
What you post, which sites and districts you join, followers, and the counts behind your analytics. We record which network sites sent visitors to your profile so you can see it — that is your data, shown to you.
Payment
Stripe handles payment. We keep a record that a payment happened and what it was for. We never see or store your card number.
Verification documents
Government ID, degrees, school and college IDs, and family photos are collected for one purpose: confirming you are who you say you are. They are not shown to other members, not used for advertising, and not shared except where the law compels it.
They are stored encrypted, access is limited to staff who need it for verification, and every access is logged. Once verification is complete we keep them only as long as we must, and then they are deleted.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not hand advertisers your profile, interests, or history to target you with. They buy a slot on a page.
- We do not build a profile of you for anyone outside this network.
- We do not read your private material for advertising purposes.
ThyCV and things kept private
A ThyCV is built to stay out of public view. Every ThyCV page carriesnoindex, is excluded in robots.txt, appears in no sitemap, and its media is served from signed links that expire. It does not appear in ThyID search and is not linked from anything a search engine reads.
We cannot control what a person you granted access to does after you granted it. Choose who you let in.
What you control
- Searchable — turn it off and you stop appearing in ThyID search. Members who already follow you keep their link.
- Your ThyCV — who qualifies, what it costs to enter, and who keeps access.
- Export — ask for a copy of your profile, uploads, and ledger at any time.
- Deletion — close your account and we delete your material, other than what we are legally required to keep and backups that expire on their normal cycle.
When we share anything
Only in these cases: with the companies that run the network for us (payment, email, storage), each bound to use it only for that work; when a valid legal order requires it; and when someone is in danger and sharing is necessary to protect them.
Where we are required to hand something over and are permitted to tell you, we will tell you.
Children
Minors on family memberships are held to stricter defaults: not searchable by default, and adult features closed by verified age rather than by a setting. A parent or guardian on the household plan may see and manage a child account.
Security
Encryption in transit and at rest, two-factor authentication on every account, and staff access limited and logged. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you what happened, what was involved, and what we are doing about it.
Asking us anything
Write to us through Help. A person answers.
